Panther Track

A hands-free AI camera for hockey. Set it up at halfway, press start, and it follows the ball for the whole match, so nobody has to miss the game standing behind a camera.

How it tracks

Ball first, always

A hockey ball is small and fast, and it disappears behind sticks and legs. Panther Track never just guesses. When it loses the ball, it drops down a level and keeps the play in shot until the ball shows up again.

  1. 1

    Ball

Follows the ball itself, and predicts its path through short gaps when it's hidden.

    Used most of the match

  2. 2

    Carrier in open space

Follows the player on the ball when nobody else is within 4 metres of them.

Used when the ball is hard to see

  3. 3

    Player cluster

Points at the centre of the densest group of players, leaning towards the team you chose to follow.

Used in scrambles and at set pieces

Two ways to film

Lite and Pro

Both start from a camera on a tall stand at halfway. Lite crops the action out of a wide recording afterwards. Pro physically turns the camera to follow play as it happens.

Panther Track

Lite

  • Just a GoPro and a stand, no extra hardware
  • Records the whole pitch in 4K
  • Software on your PC follows the play and produces a 1080p match video
  • The cheapest way to film every game

Panther Track

Pro

  • Motorised pan and tilt head that turns your camera in real time
  • Works with a GoPro today; phones and other cameras planned
  • Controlled from the app over the rig's own Wi-Fi, with one button and a status light
  • Weatherproofed for Northern Irish winters, with a target of IP54

Built for clubs

Your footage stays yours

  • No face recognition

Players are named from shirt numbers and the team sheet, with the coach correcting anything that's wrong.

  • Processed on your own kit

Footage is handled on the rig and your own computer. No upload needed and no cloud subscription.

  • Priced for club budgets

We're building Panther Track to cost a fraction of today's AI sports cameras.

Why a panther?

Named for a clubmate

Panther Track started on a hockey pitch in Ulster, built by a goalkeeper who wanted every game on film without asking a parent to stand behind a camera for a whole match.

The name honours a club player who pulled on the keeper's kit when our goalie couldn't play. His son called him the White Panther. A panther stalks its target the same way the camera follows the ball.
